ArtWorks offers internships for college students looking to work as part of the ArtWorks team in exchange for college credit or volunteer experience. ArtWorks interns help the organization provide creative and performing arts programming to children and young adults with chronic and life-threatening illnesses by assisting in many aspects of program and event planning as well as helping to manage the ArtWorks office.

Internship duties:

  • Event coordination
  • Data entry
  • Completing administrative tasks
Internship responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of our creative and performing art exhibitions
  • Organizing and archiving artwork
  • Assessing inventory
  • Coordinating our mailing efforts for special events
  • Following up with children who participate in our programs
  • Assisting in research when needed
ArtWorks internships are flexible and are scheduled to best accommodate the student as well as the organization. While the specifics can vary from student to student, internships generally last one semester and the intern should expect to work between 8-16 hours per week. Intern will be required to attend and help to coordinate our bi-annual creative and performing art exhibition if it falls within the time frame of the internship. Intern will also have the opportunity to assist in setting up ArtWorks Traveling Art Shows and, while a car is not required, if intern has a car other opportunities for travel to area hospitals may be available. Additionally, the intern may choose to attend other ArtWorks special events that may or may not fall on the day(s) of their internship. Internships can be scheduled during the fall and spring semesters as well as during summer and winter breaks.
