Alejandra likes to create art when she feels artsy and when she sees a picture that she would like to draw, like cartoons and flowers. She says, "When I draw, I am happy because I am doing something that I love, and nothing can distract me." Alejandra likes to use colored pencils for creating her artwork because they are easier to control than paint. She also likes using markers and she enjoys pastels because they make "flowers look so real." Alejandra views art as a hobby and a distraction and loves being able to make a drawing to give to a friend or family member.
Alejandra shares that some of the most important things that have happened so far in her life are being a cancer survivor, being accepted to the Acceleration and Enrichment Program (AEP) at Academy I Middle School in Jersey City, NJ, and being born to a great family who has helped her through the difficult times in her life. Alejandra says, "I want people to know that I am a great friend, sister, and daughter."
Alejandra describes an average day in her life: "Usually I eat breakfast, read a book, watch TV and go on the internet, or hang out with my brothers and sister."
